Upcycling Bookbinding for Teens

Coptic binding is a method of bookbinding first developed by the Copts, early Christians in Egypt, and used from about the 2nd century AD to the 11th century. The term is also used to describe modern bindings sewn in the same style. As taught here, this binding style is characterized by several signatures of paper sewn through their folds and attached to each other and the covers with a chain stitch across the spine. The spine will be left exposed. Books bound this way will open flat and make good journals.

Hey! Do you want to learn how to do stop motion animation with just a smartphone?

Then join us for a fun workshop in the Kilton story time room April 16th from 1:30-3:00

You'll watch some cool examples of stop motion animation, have some snacks, and work on a stop motion film of your very own!

Kids must bring a smartphone that they can download the stop motion app to. Also feel free to bring small toys, fabric, props – anything that you think will make your movie the coolest!
