Our Mission is Urgent:

The City asked us to prepare for the worst: a $290,000 budget cut to our library system, which would result in the loss of critical staff positions. We need your support to preserve our library’s funding and protect the essential services and programs that enrich our community.

The Impact of the Cuts:

If the library loses $290,000 the effects will be felt by everyone in our community. Here's what will happen:

  • Reduced Hours and Programs: Tools you rely on, from free internet to safe spaces, will suffer or stop altogether. These important services for vulnerable groups, including seniors, kids, and low-income families, are irreplaceable in our community.
  • Less Tech Help: Patrons who need help with phones, tablets, or laptops will have fewer chances to get assistance.
  • Cuts to Staff, Cuts to Service: Significant cuts to Interlibrary Loan, Tech Help, and even custodial support.
  • Children’s Programs in Jeopardy: Storytimes, after-school activities, and summer reading programs could be scaled back or even cut. These are lifelines for kids and essential supports for busy caregivers.
  • Fewer Books and Resources: Budget cuts will force us to reduce our collection, limiting your ability to get the books and resources you rely on.

  • 📅 Join Us at City Hall – Attend council meetings, and speak up.
    • Wednesday, December 4th at 7:00 PM at City Hall: Public input on the budget during a regular city council meeting.
    • Wednesday, December 18th at 6:00 PM at City Hall: The council will decide on budget cuts. Public input is welcome again.
  • ✉️ Contact City Councilors – Call, email, or write a letter. Personalized messages can make all the difference.
  • 📣 Share Your Story and Spread the Word – Tell us why the library matters to you and share our campaign on social media. Your story and support could inspire others and sway decision-makers.
