Strange: Where and How People Live Nothing to Envy by Barbara Demick

North Korean children are taught to sing that "We have nothing to envy in the world" according to Demick. In this book 6 defectors from the closed city of Chongjin (out of more than 100 from all of N. Korea whom she interviewed) describe the lives they left, and provide a rare portrait of life in the DPRK. Copies to check out are available at the Lebanon Reference desk.



Yoga of 12-Step Recovery

Yoga of 12-Step Recovery is a holistic model to address the physical, mental and spiritual disease of addiction. Y12SR is informed by the latest research in neuroscience and trauma healing.

There is no experience necessary.  Come with an open mind and comfy clothes. Bring a yoga mat if you have one. 

All A's are welcome, as are friends and family members, and anyone who has been touched by addiction. This program is free.

Colburn Park: The Center of the City, Part I: A Talk by Art Pease

Join Lebanon resident, Art Pease as he takes us on an armchair tour of Colburn Park, featuring maps, aerial views and many photos of the  buildings which give Lebanon its distinctive small-town New England look and feel. This two-part presentation will be given on separate evenings and will encourage audience participation.
